Larry was born in Moline, Illinois on March 5, 1948. He graduated from Jones High School in 1967. He married Cindy Bailey on November 26, 1971. They celebrated their 50th anniversary last year!
Larry worked for the Houston Police Department for 33 years as a patrol officer. He also worked 25 years at the Astrodome, NRG Stadium, and Minute Maid Park providing security for Astros, Oilers, Texans, and Houston Rodeo events. He retired in 2005. After retirement, he and Cindy moved to the Bentwater community on Lake Conroe so he could pursue his true passion of producing bad golf scores on a weekly basis. Larry was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Conroe and volunteered with the Salvation Army each month. If he wasn’t on the golf course or at church, you could find him at the little league fields watching his grandson, Kai, play baseball. He hardly missed a game.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bradford Bailey, and mother, Norma Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Bailey, son, Barret Bailey, daughter-in-law, Velvet Nelson, grandson, Kai Bailey, sister, Suzanne Falks, brother, Ed Bailey, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Larry will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 2727 N. Loop 336 w., Conroe, TX 77304.
