I just learned about this loss today. I met Jose when I was with EY in Mexico City. I met him for the first time in 1999 or 2000, he was our mentor and helped build the EY Information Security practice in Mexico that became one of the most admired and respected in that country.

I left EY in 2012 to move to Toronto, Canada and called to Jose to announce my decision, his message to me was conforting and encouraging. He was a remarkable leader. Today, I am sending Christmas notes to my friends and that includes my EY family. For a strange reason, when thinking of Jose to send a note, I Googled his name and found this. I was, I am schocked. I will always remember him with respect, appreciation and love.

Jose was the rarest of human beings: a giver in time of need, a light in the darkness, a motivator, a peacemaker and a confidant.  For most of his career, he worked in a highly competitive, sometimes aggressive environment, yet, Jose never seemed to be effected by or in any way involved in tangental firm politics.  He was both loved and respected by all; very difficult in our world   I know this because we were both Partners at E&Y.  He was also one of my closest friends.  I believed that this friendship would last a lifetime, but I, like all those whose hearts he touched, are impelled to cherish the memories of the many great and memorable times we had together.

Very rarely in the course of 20 years do I meet people who are universally loved and respected by all whom they touch.  Jose was one of those rare people.  He will be greatly missed.

I met Jose when I joined EY several years ago and he was the friendliest, most wonderful person! We shared a passion for photography and he was the first to offer help whenever I need something in the Cyber Security space.  My sincere condolences to your family.  Rest in peace, Jose. God bless.

Our Dear Loving Uncle Jose, will be missed. He was a Great Uncle and a kind and generous man. We will always love him and our love of computers comes from him. It is said that the great ones make all those around them better.  Jose was a great one.  His positive influence on so many of us speaks volumes for his selflessness and the value of his counsel.  Laurie, AJ and the Granado family, I am so sorry for your loss.  I will miss him but I am thankful to have worked for him, for the many happy memories we shared and the opportunity to build on his legacy.

Jose will be deeply missed.  I had the great fortune of working with Jose for many years.  More important than his technical acumen and tremendous work ethic, was Jose's commitment to his family - both his personal family and his work family. I first met Jose when we were starting our computer forensics practice back in the late 90s.  We had a lot of work to do, but Jose always made sure we found time to enjoy each other and the experience, including being part of the exercise to give everyone on the team Star Wars nicknames. I recall another time someone made a graphic of a hurricane weather pattern with Jose's face in the midst as Hurricane Granado approached Houston.  It was a great team.

But as much as he helped us each pursue our own dreams and goals and feel like we were part of a big family, it was always clear what drove him -- creating a better life for his wife and son.  Which just made us love him even more.  

Thank you for sharing him with us and please now know we all share in your grief at his far-too-soon passing.  Many prayers to you and your family.

My thoughts & prayers are with Laurie Ann and Anthony, as well as Jose's extended family. Jose was such force in our firm. I remember well when the cyber security center was opened in our Houston office - how very proud I was of Jose's leadership and passion around the effort. He was so far ahead of our competitors and just so passionate about the subject. I loved his positive attitude and drive for our firm. Jose will be missed but please know that he made a very big difference in our firm.

Jose was loved at EY. He lit up every room he walked into and made everyone feel like they were the most important person on the team. I will miss him very much but his legacy will live on in all of us and all of the many people Jose coached, mentored, and taught.

I worked with Jose back during his AFOSI days and although we had lost touch over the years, I was very sad to hear the news. Taken from us way too soon, Jose will be deeply missed by our entire family. His kind hearted friendship meant so much to us. While he encouraged others to strive for success and balance, he was humble in his own success. A man of integrety, we know his time here will continue to inspire lives that he touched. Jose had such a positive impact on so many of us that worked with him at EY. Jose believed in me and gave me an opportunity to work as one of the first interns at EY's ASC in Houston. During my first week at EY, I was  extremely nervous and didn't know if i was doing the right things and if i was going to succeed. So, I approached Jose to seek his guidance. I clearly remember his words In order to succeed, do at least one thing every day that scares you, that makes you nervous. I have been following his advice till date. 

Thank you for your remarkable leadership, which has united and inspired all of us at EY. For all that we have learned from you, and all that we will continue to learn from each other, thank you, Jose.

Although I only knew Jose for five years, he was the person who most inspired me at EY, and particularly his passion for all things "cybersecurity". Jose you were always willing to give everyone a chance, and saw the uniqueness in each individual. For that, I will be eternally grateful. Although we have lost a great person, I am certain your spirit will continue to inspire those at EY for many, many years to come!

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Jose was an amazing man, co-worker and friend. His legacy will live on at EY as if he is still here leading and mentoring so many of us. The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me".
