He was born in Houston, TX on January 9, 1971. John graduated from Spring Woods High School.
John worked as a truck driver for Federal Express (FedEx).
He had a passion for photography, gun collecting, history, music and travel.
He was survived by his father, Ron Alford; mother, Debbie Ellington; step-father, Gary Lane; daughter, Kristina Alford and her fiance’, Josh Mowdy; grandmother, LaNeve Stanley; brother, Michael Alford; step-brother, Nathan Lane; step-sister, Kim Grieshop as well as several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
John’s compassionate nature and generous spirit knew no bounds. He touched the lives of all whose path he crossed. Jesus instructed us in Matthew 25:35-36, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to see me. This is probably one of the most well-known verses about welcoming others. It speaks specifically to those who initially might be hard to welcome – the poor, the sick, or anyone who we consider to be “different”. But our kindness is not only a reflection of our Christianity as a whole, but it’s a direct reflection on how we think about Jesus.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, November 17, 2016 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
