He was born in El Dorado, Arkansas July 31, 1956. Tim graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1974, and graduated with honors from University of Houston- College of Optometry in 1982.
Tim was a notable optometrist in the Greater-Houston area for more than 35 years with Berkeley Eye Center. He loved learning the practice of examining eyes for visual defects and excelled in LASIK vision correction.
Tim was a three-time Boston Marathon participant and had a passion for running. Amongst his other passions were cooking, fishing, hunting, attending U of H football games, and listening to Rock n Roll.
Tim is survived by his loving partner, Catherine Mary Henry; parents, Jim Berry Varnell and Patti Sue Varnell; his three children, James Ryan Varnell, Alec Timothy Varnell, Lydia Shannon Varnell; and his grandchild, Liam James Varnell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. There will be a reception to follow in Forest Park's event room.
