James Charles Blackwell

Jim served proudly in the Navy during WWII. After the war, he graduated with honors from the University of Alabama with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After graduation, he secured a job with Goodyear Tire and Rubber company in Akron, Ohio. There he met the love of his life, Jeanne. They married and had two boys, Jim and Jeff. Jim and Jeanne enjoyed traveling in his retirement years and lived in Ohio, Alabama, South Carolina and Texas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne, sister Doris and brother Joe . He is survived by his son, Jim, who resides in Rochester, Minnesota, his son Jeff and his wife Holly who reside in The Woodlands, Texas and by his sisters Shirley and Billie and his brother Aubrey in Alabama. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kevin, Matthew, Benjamin, Nathan, Melissa, and Rhett.

He was comforted throughout his wonderful life by his family and unwavering love of the Lord. He will be missed by all that knew him.

A memorial service for James will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
