He graduated from Milby High School and married the love of his life Mildred L. "Morrison" Nickell on July 1, 1950.
Jack worked at Houston Light and Power for over 40 years. He was a Mason, member of the Deacon and Treasurer at Glendale Baptist Church and had a passion for fishing, painting and spending time with his family.
He was proceeded in death by his mother; Pauline Hardy, and father; Jack Nickell Sr., brother; Jesse L. Nickell
Jack is survived by his wife; Mildred of 68 years, four children; Deborah Lee, Paula Sims, David Nickell, James Nickell, five grandchildren; Jason Carranza, Alisa Zermeno, David J. Nickell, Ryan Nickell, Ashley DeMarco, six great-grandchildren; Sarah Carranza, Kameron Carranza, Paul Nathan Zermeno, Jordan Zermeno, Riley Rae Nickell, Jacob Nickell, sister; Barbara Maki along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Jack will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
In lieu of flowers the family would like a donation to be made in honor of Jack to the Samaritans Purse.
Serving as pallbearers are; Jason Carranza, David Nickell, David J. Nickell, Ryan Nickell, Lloyd Lee and Paul Zermeno. Serving as alternates are; Kameron Carranza and Paul Nathan Zermeno.
