He was a retired Barber/Hairstylist. He served his customers over 40 years at Teer Barber Shop in Houston and Teers Barber/Style Shop in Missouri City.
He served in the Medical Company 160th Infantry 40th Division. He received the rank of Sergeant in the Army. He served as a medic for 18 months on the front lines in Inchon, Korea in 1951-1952. In 2000, he was presented the Medical Combat Badge and the Ambassador of Peace Medal by the Korean government in a special ceremony in Korea along with other members of his unit.
He was an ordained deacon in the Baptist church. He served in many roles of leadership in both Baptist and Methodist churches over the years.
He was a mason and member of the Joe Werner Masonic Lodge #553 and Eastern Star #186 of Trinity, Texas.
He retired in 1993 to his lake home in Riverside, Texas. He had the shell built and he and his son in law, Michael Wilkinson, finished out the inside. He loved to fish and tend to his yard and garden. After 15 years, he moved to Conroe, Texas where resided at the time of his death.
He loved his family and serving and sponsoring organizations in his community.
