George "Tommy" Thomas Simmons Sr.

He was born in Shaw, Mississippi on September 19, 1944. He was married to Cheryl Ann Ferguson on April 8, 1964.

Tommy worked in the floor covering business and owned Stylish Carpets along with his two brothers.

He had a passion for his farm, love for his cows and respect for the land and nature. He was a simple man. He didn’t mince words and said things in an honest manner. He was about respect, honesty and that’s what he gave.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lavert Simmons and Annebell Simmons; brothers, Wayne Federal Simmons and Harold Waymond Simmons.

He was survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters, Stacy Denise Christian and Shawn Katherine Simmons and a son, George “Tommy” Thomas Simmons, Jr.; grandchildren, Colton Ray Smith, Thomas Blayne Christian, Coby Reese Smith, Baylee Lavert Christian, Jaycee Ann Marie Simmons, Reece Elizabeth Simmons and George “Trace” Thomas Simmons III; brothers, Marvin “Clyde” Simmons, Theron “Clark” Simmons, Joseph “Ray” Simmons and Richard Lee Simmons; and sisters, Dorothy Ann Hollingworth and Brenda Lou Phillips.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384 followed by a graveside service at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023 which is where he will rest in everlasting peace.
