He was born in San Angelo, Texas on January 16, 1919. Mr. Skains graduated from high school in Dallas, Texas.
George had a career in Aviation with Pan American Airways as a Director Executive in South America.
He was a member of the 439th Troop Carrier and 91st Troop Carrier during World War II. George had a passion for golf and art, enjoyed world traveling, and investing in real estate. He was married to Ruth Skains on June 10, 1958 in Madrid, Spain.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Skains, daughter Rosemarie Jordan; grandchildren, David, Aaron, Jessica Skains and Brittany and Braidyn Jordan; sister-in-law, Anneliese Kloske; and nephews, Woodrow, Phillip and Jerry Skains. He was preceded in death by his brother, Woodrow.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1:00pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
