She is survived by her husband, Jim Wiechkoske; daughters, Lisa Salinas and Leslie Brandt; step-daughter, Theresa Kelly; son-in-law, James Brandt; and two grandsons, Carson Brandt and Ryan Brandt; and step-granddaughter, Sarah Staples. She was the daughter of Sam P. Dawson and Nannie Bell C. Dawson. Her siblings included Sam Dawson, Jean Higgins, Glenna Medina, Janice Syphrett and Jeanette Brown. She also had many nephews and nieces that she loved very much. She was born in Flomaton, Alabama but always called Pensacola, Florida the place where she grew up. In high school, her family moved to Houston, Texas where she graduated from Smiley High School. Soon after, she started working for the light company, but she soon dreamed of working for Humble Oil and Refining Company where she met the love of her life, Jim. They married December 13, 1969. In 1970, Lisa was born and eight years later Leslie came along. Her family was everything to her and her love was infectious. She loved traveling back to Pensacola Beach in the summer. When her grandchildren were born, she became Mamaw. She often said that her little family was everything to her and it was. She was a bright shining light in our eyes. She was strong, faithful and beautiful inside and out. She loved going to church and singing. She loved baking and watching movies. She loved life. She will forever be in our hearts.
