Evan was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and godfather. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 14, 1994. Evan graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2013. When he was younger, he was on a little league all-star team, he also played football in middle school, and rugby in high school. Evan loved and found peace in the outdoors, camping, and hiking. He particularly enjoyed that he had accomplished hiking the entire Colorado trail.
A big heart, a sensitive soul, and a loving presence. Evan was a deep thinker who enjoyed reading, particularly philosophy, and reflecting on ideas. Evan was always intellectually curious and looking to learn new things. Evan was accomplished in the areas about which he cared. What he cared most about was the people he loved. He loved his family with devotion and energy. He was always available to his family and gave of his time willingly and generously.
Evan is survived by his grandparents, Terry and Pam Willis; his mother, Michaele Willis Rasberry, and father, Thomas Joseph Smith; his siblings, Taylor Grote and his wife Brittani, Madeline Hebert and her husband Ryan, and Parker Smith; his nephew, Oaklan Grote, and niece and godchild, Jane Hebert; his aunt, Suzette Smith, and his cousin, Aubrey Armbruster.
Our family is devastated by this loss and seeks understanding and grace from God in this impossibly difficult time.
