Dolores was a switchboard (PBX) operator for over 40 years. During WWII she moved to Washington, DC and worked with the Government as a PBX operator for two years. Once switchboard operators were no longer in use, she became a receptionist at Tenneco and continued to work there for over 10 years before retiring in 1991. Even after she retired, she continued to work part-time and sold Mary Kay Cosmetics until the age 75.
Dolores was a huge fan of pop, disco, and big band music. She loved gardening and it was a huge part of her life. She always made time to admire all plants and animals no matter where she went.
Preceded in death by her father, John Lorance, her mother, Crystal Jones, her daughter, Lola Ione Flores, brothers, Jay Lorance and William Lorance. She is survived by her son, Brad Garrett, her brother Dave Lorance, daughter-in-law, Maria Garrett and her grandchildren, Chloe Garrett, Daniel Mendez, David Mendez.
A memorial service for Dolores will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
