It's January 2022 and I just learned that a friend of mine, David Overstreet, had passed away in 2015. David and I rode back and forth everyday to Cameron University for years. We even had many classes together. My most memorable class with David was biology, which I hated. He would spend alot of his personal time helping me with that terrible class, I made it with a C, thanks to David.  After reading all the memories here, it's nice to know David had a good life. RIP my friend. 

Sandie, I am so sorry for your loss and to hear of David's passing.  He was always willing to talk, usually about golf and his other passions in life, and occasionally about the NGL business.  I appreciated the many times we crossed paths over the years and the sincereity in his voice when he asked how you were doing.

David became a friend of mine from the day he started building the '55. When it was done just the way he wanted, he praised the work and never once forgot to remind me how damn fine his car drives or what he had in his mind to do next. We had more in common besides the car and I will cherish the times we spent hanging out. David's stories and expierence were countless. His advice and guidance about life will be kept close. What a hell of an impact he has made on so many people in such a short amount of time. Until we meet again, know your influence and memory won't fade.

Sandie - Mary Kay and I were so sorry to hear Dave had passed away.  We played golf and became friends long before we had any business relationship.  I will always appreciate the help and advise Dave has given me over the years.  On golf outings in the past, Dave would complain about playing 36 holes for a few days in a row but he was always ready for another 36 holes if there was an opportunity to play more golf with his friends.  Memories of spending time with Dave will bring a smile to those who knew him well and he will be missed by so many.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

David was such a great guy and I looked up to him so much. Having lost my dad a couple years before I met David, he was there to give me advice when I needed it and to take me hunting and fishing. Those were such great times!! I enjoyed very much spending that time with him and I already miss him coming into my shop to hang out. He took me under his wind and he was one of my best friends, just as he was to everyone else.  I first met him when he brought his '55 Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop into my shop for some work. I knew almost immediately that we were going to be friends and so I invited him to lunch. He reminded me of someone my Dad would have liked or maybe even knew. That was the start of our friendship that I will forever cherish. He was so full of life and he always had a good story or joke to tell. I hated watching him go through the treatments but he always kept his head up, even when he wasn't feeling well. He was an inspiration to us all at Mo' Muscle and everyone here is sad that we have lost him but happy for the times we had. Sandie and Andi, David loved yall so much and talked about yall often when we were together on our road trips. My heart hurts for you that he is no longer here with us but I am grateful that he came into my life. Rock on David!! I love you man!!

Sandie and family,  I was honored to know Dave and had numerous opportunities to enjoy times with him, both from a business and social perspective.  I will miss him for lots of reasons as many of his friends will as well.  I shot my best 9 hole golf score with him (38), never to be repeated.  He was always willing to help me, whether it was in business or just as a friend.  My prayers are for you and your family, may God grant you peace.

Sandie and family. David was a great mentor to me when I started with Koch in the early 80's. We also enjoyed fishing together when I lived in Houston. We always had fun, the most memorable being when I tipped our canoe over on a Guadalupe river fishing float trip. We had to spend a considerable amount of time diving in a deep pool to recover Dave's fishing rod. I am saddened to hear of his passing. My prayers are with all of you.

As many have said, Dave truly was one of a kind. I worked with him at Koch and when I transferred into gas liquids to effectively do part of the job that Dave had been doing, some people in the same situation might have made things difficult for me. Not Dave, he was just the opposite. He went out of his way to help me and train me in an industry I knew nothing about and he knew it all. He was patient and mentoring and would set up golf and other outings so I could get to know my new customers (his friends). I loved to hear about his golf games from the previous weekend as he recounted every shot in descriptive detail. He sometimes would say that he didn't play too well and even considered a few times during the round of giving the game up for good to rid himself of the aggravation. He would then go straight to how he found a new swing key that would make it all better the next time out. That was Dave. I loved being with the man and will never forget all he did for me. What I will cherish most is that my son, Mike, had the opportunity to work closely with Dave at ONEOK these last few years. Mike would tell me something funny Dave had said or how he had helped him out of difficult situation with a customer and it would bring a smile to my face (and sometimes a tear to my eye) as Dave had done the same for me years ago. It was my pleasure and privilege to have known and worked with David Overstreet. Such a man does not grace this earth often.

Sandy, I am extremely sad to hear about David, I think of him often and especially this time of the year. I am sorry for your loss and Reeca and I are thinking about you.

As a young guy joining Koch right out of college it would have been easy to feel intimidated & overwhelmed.  David always made himself available and took the time to answer any questions, explain a deal or provide guidance.  I learned a lot from watching David interact with and develop realtionships with his clients, who became his friends.  David made my 1st set of real golf clubs & was the one who suggested our family try the Cayman Islands which has become the spot for our most cherished family memories. Sandie and Andi-Even though we are all saddened by the loss of David, it only takes a couple of minutes to begin to remember all of the fond memories and great times that we shared and the laughter and smiles win out.  From his advising me on my first boat purchase, fishing equipment, the technological instruction in golf equipment,and working with David; he will always reside in a special place in my heart. I know you will miss him greatly, but he will always be with you.

It was my pleasure and priviledge to know Dave.  He was always someone you wanted on your Team, someone you could count on--not to mention funnier than all get out.  My very deepest sympathies

I worked with Dave at Koch for over 25 years.  I sat next to him for a few years on our first trading floor.  I was amazed how every Monday morning he could recount every stroke of the 36+ holes of golf he shot over the weekend, plus the shots of his playing partners.  His dry wit would keep us laughing all the time.  He was so proud of Andi and readily acknowledged that Sandie was the one that kept everything running in their household.  I know his big, wonderfully unique personality will be missed by his family and those of us who worked and played with him.  May your many wonderful memories of Dave comfort you.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I didn't know Dave for long, approx 3 yrs, but I felt like I knew him much longer based on the many stories about fishing, cars, and yes sometimes business.  I have a lakehouse on Livingston too and Dave was always telling me where the latest and greatest honey hole was....I'll certainly miss him.  May our prayers comfort you during this most difficult time.

Sandie and Andi - It is hard for me to believe that Dave is not with us anymore.  Seems like yesterday that Dave and I were erecting a basketball goal at your new house in The Woodlands.  Time goes by so fast.  Dave has left us all with so many good memories.  Golf with Dave was always a treat.  My trip to Dallas last May was not the same without him.  I will miss him.  But, Dave will continue to be us as we play golf for many years to come.  Linda and I have you in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences on your loss,  I will always remember David watching OU football games that were 10 years old and him yelling "go go go td" and I would ask.  Have you not seen this game?  He would say yes several time.

The term “One of a Kind” comes to mind.  Interacting with Dave, albeit infrequently, at Koch and then ONEOK over the last 18 years; every conversation was unlike any other.  With Dave's passing, there is no replacement for his unique style.  He will be missed.

I will always remember being given the tour of David's museum when I was over for a fish fry. I was blown away with his collection of Arrow heads and hunting trophies. At first I thought I was getting a tour of his "Air Head" collection until I realized I was lost in accent translation again. I know how much David was loved by his family and I can understand why. He will be missed.

Dave will be missed by all who knew him.  He touched many lives in the energy industry and I know many others like me consider him not only a mentor but a good friend as well.  Dave's knowledge and integrity were irreproachable and it's an honor to have known him, done business with him, fished and hunted with him.  My only regret is that I did not meet him sooner. I am really going to miss Dave. You work with a guy for 39 yrs and just when you think you've heard all the stories and "Overstreetisms" out pops a new one. I've blown a mouth full of coffee on my computer screens more than once. How do you ever replace a guy like Dave...you don't. I've never known a guy with more integrity and honesty than Dave. He put 100% of himself into everything he did whether it was work, golf, fishing, hunting or cars. His passing has left a hole in all of us.

If anyone could remember every golf course he played and just about every shot it was David. I will miss his humor and his genuine personality. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

 I was so very sorry to hear about David losing the battle. I so enjoyed hunting trips and playing golf with him and just being with him.He will be missed greatly. A GREAT guy!!!

I met Dave while working on MB1 in the corporate office at ONEOK.  I always knew I could count on him to back me up and to get me what I needed.  I was sad to move to my new position a few years ago,  but I always knew that I could call Dave and get what I needed from him quicker than I could get it from others.  I assume he felt the same way because he would always call me too when he wanted something straightened out here.

I'm going to miss him terribly - especially the laughter and the smile he brought to my face.  He was such a character.  I never had less than a 20 minute conversation with him, but I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I'll continue to keep you guys in my prayers.  We lost a good one.

Very sorry to hear about David.  The NGL industry has lost a good man.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

A legend has fallen.  Dave had a unique manner when educating people about the NGL business.  Great golfer, great business man, great friend but mostly a great talker.  The Dave Overstreet stories will last forever.  We all will miss him.

Sandie and Andi - We are so sad to lose David.  I always enjoyed hearing all of the stories he told, as well as the stories about him.  What a character!!  Definitely the best 'fish fryer' I know!!  Loved watching him with Coco - David would always go out in the backyard and throw the ball for her - then she would bug him to go back outside.  All those OU games where he coached from the couch and the many trips we shared together.  We have created so many memories over the years and Tom and I are so thankful that David will continue to live in our hearts through those memories.  Always know that Tom and I are here for you.

Dave was a unique character and a joy to be around. His sense of humor and dry delivery make me laugh as I remember the times we spent together. What a great guy to hang with. He was special. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

Sandie  - Dave will be greatly missed by all of us who have enjoyed being his friend......whether it was through work, playing golf, or just hanging out with him. I consider it a privilege to have known Dave for the past 30 years. Dave was really good at making us laugh, with his dry wit and humor. Leaving a legacy of laughter is one that will put a smile on our faces every time we think of him. Please let Becky and I know if there is anytning we can do for you, or your family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

As you know i will really miss your Dad. I will miss his grumpiness,  his common sense,his telling it like it is, his threatening to quit during a round of golf cause he was playing badly, his countless sayings, his willingness to help any of us, his reparing golf clubs of his buddies that broke them in a fit of rage, his smug smile when he was talking about his car, but most of all i will miss all the golf, fishing, fish fries, etc. that we will never get to have.
