David Gligor, age 57, passed away in Houston, Texas on November 19, 2023. He was born on March 20, 1966 in Youngstown, Ohio, to John and Kathryn Gligor. David's life was marked by a vibrant spirit, an accomplished career, and a deep love for his family and friends.
A graduate of Youngstown State University, David earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, laying the foundation for a successful career that spanned several decades. On October 30, 1999, he married the love of his life, Debra J. Margolis, creating a partnership that stood strong through the years.
David's professional journey was illustrious, with 20 years of dedicated service at Service Corporation International, where he held various leadership positions. Following this, he spent a decade as a managing partner at DGC Management. At the time of his passing, he was serving in a director position with Just Energy, leaving an indelible mark on the company.
A true daredevil at heart, David found joy in life's thrilling adventures. Motorcycles, lake life, boating – these were not just hobbies but expressions of his zest for life. He savored the finer things, enjoying good wine, fine cigars, and the art of cooking. Yet, amidst all these passions, his greatest treasures were his family and friends.
David is survived by his daughter, Samantha Dornan, and her husband, Mark; granddaughters, Madison and Shelby Dornan; sister, Lisa Gligor-Habian, and her husband, John; niece, Kathryn Habian; nephew, Simion Habian; brother, John Gligor, Jr.,
His legacy lives on in the memories of those who knew him – a man who embraced life with a fearless spirit, touched the hearts of many, and left an enduring impact on all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
Visitation for David will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston, TX 77006, where his funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery, 18000 I 45 S, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
