Darren Keith Bert

Darren was born on May 26, 1972, to Pierre and Jacqueline Bert, in Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1990, followed by pursuing a degree from the University of Houston and building a successful career as a cybersecurity analyst. Darren took great pride and dedicated countless hours in his role of protecting sensitive information and safeguarding individuals and companies against cyber threats. He worked late nights and weekends to ensure his projects were successful, often going above and beyond to support his clients and coworkers. Darren’s passionate personality also translated into being an avid college football fan – He loved to remind his family that Saturday means Game Day, compare his most recent stat analysis to the scoreboards, and root for his beloved Cougars. Whether it be cybersecurity or college football, Darren was known for his dedication and zealous spirit. He was a loving husband, devoted son, and an amazing brother. He was also known as the fun and supportive uncle to his nieces and nephews, and always the life of the party at family gatherings. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Ledbetter; mother, Jacqueline Bert; sister, Claudine Jeansonne and husband, Randal Jeansonne; brother, Kevin Bert and wife, Johanna Bert; nephews, Cole, Erik, Joshua, Noah; and nieces, Madison, Alexa, Sophia, Clara. He is also survived by an aunt, uncle and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Pierre Bert.

A memorial service will be held on October 2, 2024 at 2:00 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society.

While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the knowledge that Darren is now in the presence of the Lord. He lived his life with zeal, faith and love, and his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
