Charles “Chuck” Wellman was a very social person who enjoyed time at the cigar shop with his buddies, smoking cigars, talking about the day’s topics and politics, and adding to his collections of cigars and vintage toys. Charles Stephen Wellman, Jr., 63, of The Woodlands, TX passed peacefully on Saturday, March 9th, 2024.
He was born in Louisa, KY in 1960 to Charles and Sandra Wellman. Chuck grew up across the country living in places such as Milwaukee, WI, Orange, CA, Monroe, NC, and a couple of stints in the Houston, TX area. He attended Monroe High School in Monroe, NC prior to attending Wingate College for his associates.
Chuck met the love of his life, Kimberly, in 1980 while visiting some friends at Appalachian State. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on March 27th, 1982.
He had a soft spot for his dogs, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were. From his childhood cocker spaniel “Champ”, to getting happy meals for Sandy to keeping Molly from attacking opossums, he loved his dogs.
Chuck was passionate about his various roles at Omicron Controls. Working for the company for 35 years he built relationships with his customers as well as the manufacturer’s.
Chuck also had a passion for his cars. From cross-country trips with his wife in Alfie the Alfa Romeo to his dream car, the Porsche 911.
Chuck will always be remembered for his gift of gab and the way that he would always want to help people out. We couldn’t have asked for a better father and husband and will miss Chuck every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
