Charles Thomas Bothwell of The Woodlands, Texas was born September 12, 1933 in Celina, Texas and went home to be with his Savior on May 30, 2023 in The Woodlands, Texas. Charles grew up in Dallas, Texas and especially enjoyed summers working on his uncle’s farm. He graduated from N.R. Crozier Technical High School in 1952 where he proudly served as a cadet in the ROTC program. Following high school, Charles served in the US Army as a weapons mechanic while stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. After completing his time on active duty, he served as a reservist in the US Air Force and Air National Guard of Texas, for a combined total of 8 years.
Charles was a dedicated employee of Hugh B. Williams Manufacturing (later Hughes Tool Company, now Baker Hughes) starting as a machinist trainee and retiring 36 years later as Vice President of Manufacturing. He enjoyed a second career at Texas Aluminum Industries (TAI) overseeing plant and safety compliance operations, particularly enjoying boosting morale by hosting and cooking BBQ lunches for the employees.
An avid fisherman and member of the Corsicana Rebel Bass Club, he was happiest on a boat, rod and reel in hand, only second to coming home to fry up a feast of the day’s catch.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lela Sutherland Bothwell, father, Jesse Edward Bothwell, devoted wife of 52 years, Alice Bothwell, along with brothers James and Doyce Bothwell, and sisters-in-law Dorothy “Dottie” Bothwell and Jackie Hargrove, and brother-in-law Larry Hargrove.
