Bobby Joe Baker, Sr., age 81, of Montgomery, Texas, went to be with our Lord on July 2, 2024. He was born in Trinity, Texas on January 31, 1943, the first of 4 children. Bobby grew up in Trinity and later moved to Houston, Texas. He graduated from Sam Houston High School, after which he proudly served in the U.S. Army. After completing his military service, Bobby met the love of his life, Judith, and they were married on May 29, 1965. They recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary, a testament to their enduring love and commitment.
Bobby had a distinguished career with Southwestern Bell, retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. Concurrently, he ran a successful general contracting business with his family. His strong work ethic and drive left a lasting impact on all of those that worked with him.
Bobby was a man of many passions. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored. He was a talented cook, often delighting his family and friends with big southern style meals. An avid hunter and fisherman, Bobby cherished time spent outdoors with family and friends. He enjoyed going on trips, creating countless cherished memories. Bobby had a special way with babies, always managing to make them smile. Known for his hospitality, he loved throwing parties, thriving on the joy and laughter of those around him. His infectious spirit brought happiness to all who knew him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Obie Baker, his mother, Eddie Mae Baker, his sister Gale Brook, his brother Morris Baker, and his grandson, Joshua Baker.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Baker; his brother Dale Baker (Janet); his brother-in-law Billy Brook; his daughter Bridget Barron (Jim Andrews), sons Bobby Baker, Jr., and Brett Baker (Shawn); grandchildren Hunter Barron (Christina), Addison Martinez Gallardo (Luis), Jessica Baker, Alexis Baker, Dylan Baker, and Bella Baker; his great grandchildren Luke, Waylon, Liam, Iñigo, Theo, and Augustine; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Forest Park-The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384 on July 9, 2024 at 10:00 am with a reception at Forest Park following the service. A short graveside service will be at 1:00 pm.
