A.T. “Pete” Daugherty, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was born in Houston, TX on January 9, 1929 and passed to Heaven on September 7, 2015 at the age of 86. Pete proudly served in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific for 3 ½ years and was a veteran of WWII. After his discharge he became a switchman for the Southern Pacific Railroad and retired after 39 ½ years. During his life he served as a deacon in various churches and was a member at West Conroe Baptist Church. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, L. V. Daugherty and Alma Yawn Daugherty, son, Daniel Ray Daugherty, and brothers, Elbie Daugherty and Lee Daugherty. He is survived by his wife Mittie Carole Daugherty of 63 years, son Michael D. Daugherty and wife Sandra, granddaughter Kristi Trahan and husband John, grandson Matthew Daugherty and wife Amanda, great grandchildren Kaitlyn Trahan, Aiden Trahan, Eastlynn Daugherty and Elijah Daugherty, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 10, 5-8 PM, at Forest Park The Woodlands. Services are scheduled for Friday, Sep. 11 at 10 AM at the West Conroe Baptist Church Chapel, 1855 Longmire Road, Conroe, TX with Rev. Jay Gross officiating. Burial will follow at 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to West Conroe Baptist Church Vineyard Class.
