

Martha was born in Camden, New Jersey, on July 27, 1934, to Katharine and Browne Bannar. She grew up in Audubon, New Jersey, and graduated from Audubon High School in June of 1951. After graduation she started college at Western Maryland but transferred to University of Bridgeport, in Connecticut to fulfill her dream of becoming a dental hygienist. She graduated in May 1954 and became a dental hygienist for the Westport Connecticut School System. While working in Connecticut she met her first husband, Frank, and they remained married until 1967.
In 1995 she went to a college reunion at the University of Bridgeport where she reunited with her college sweetheart, Joe Kenney. They were married in Fairfield, Connecticut in the spring of 1997. In the spring of 2000, she and Joe visited The Villages, Florida and decided to relocate. Unfortunately, Joe, the love of her life, passed away in the fall of 2003.
Martha and her brother Jim spent summers on the coast of Maine at their grandparents' home. The family inherited a cottage where they spent their summers with their children. Martha loved Maine and making the trek from Florida each summer with her dog Small Frye.
While living in The Villages, Martha was involved with various ukulele and banjo/ukulele clubs. Martha, along with Barbara Hanson, Wayne Dieffenbach, and Dick Gordon started the first Ukulele Performance Band in 2008 called The Silver Strummers. She was the treasurer for The Ukulele Club and The Strings and Things Club. She was also the treasurer of The New Jersey Club for many years. She was involved with the New Jersey club for many years. She was involved with the Villa Berea Neighbors Club. Martha was always surrounded by precious, active and engaging friends.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Amme; five grandchildren Billy, Nicole, Kerry, Frankie, and Bridget, two great-grandchildren, a brother Jim and his wife Doris, a nephew Andrew and a niece Katie who fondly referred to her as Aunt Lunch.
