Jean Elder Noe, 86, of Tavares, Florida, entered her eternal rest on May 3, 2020. Born in Rahway, New Jersey she attended Vassar and graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University, studying chemistry and physics, and later attending Penn State taking education classes. In 1955 she married her first love, Frederick Noe. She traveled with him from London to New England, Brazil to Mexico, and finally they moved to Florida enjoying retirement in Fort Myers, Clermont and most recently Tavares. Jean was a gifted teacher and especially enjoyed her high school chemistry classes. A fine musician she played the piano, sang in church choir, loved the opera and many memories were created playing duets with Fred on his violin. She also loved sewing, needlework, knitting and quilting - always with a purring cat keeping her company. She had a passion for crosswords and the Wall Street Journal; was fond of long walks, the ocean, sunsets and flowers and was known to be an excellent cook. Her life was well lived as it was filled with acts of kindness and her giving spirit always thinking of others before herself. Her love remains with those who she touched especially her husband, Fred; daughter Suzanne Snyder and husband Ronald; daughter Christine Noe and granddaughter Stella Luna; niece Michelle Richardson, husband Scott, son Ben and daughter Kayleigh. Although gone from us, she has reached the celestial height and can experience there her favorite hymn, Jesu’ Joy of Man’s Desiring.
