Bernard Altieri

Bernard (Ben) Altieri, 92, of The Villages, passed away on August 26, 2018. Ben was born in Cecil, PA on August 2, 1926. He had a 2-year degree from Penn State Extension. He worked for Xerox as a Consulting Engineer and the domestic and international Quality Control Engineer. Ben was happily married to Shirley for 67 years. He excelled at softball and enjoyed golf, and bowling. Organizing events was Ben's strong suit. He was actively involved in organizing the Little League in Pennsylvania. While with Xerox, he organized their softball league and other social events. Ben also served in the U.S. Navy. Ben is survived by his loving wife Shirley Altieri; daughters Deborah Pulliam and Denise Schafer; son Jeffrey Altieri (Kathy); grandchildren Rebecca (Bill) Koch, Andrew (Deanna) Jugan, Daniel (Katy) Jugan, Jason (Tiffany) Altieri, Liana Altieri; and 8 great grandchildren. Ben is preceded in death by parents Maria and Bernardino; brothers Joseph, Alexander, Ralph; and sisters Lucy, Angelina, Sittemia. A memorial service is being held at New Covenant Methodist Church on Monday, September 24th at 10:00 am.
