William D. Shipp, Jr., 84, of Texarkana, AR died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at his home. Mr. Shipp was born October 3, 1929 in Rock Creek, TX. He retired from Red River Army Depot. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Arkansas where he attended the New Covenant Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Langdon Shipp of Texarkana, AR; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Kayla Shipp of Midland, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Shannon Johnston of Genoa, AR; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Mildred Ambler of Texarkana, AR, Johnnie and Bob Williams of Texarkana, TX, and Betty Benson of Garland, TX; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Holly Springs Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Bennett and Rev. Vida Williams officiating. Burial is under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.
Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014 at East Funeral Home - Downtown.
