She was born on March 26th, 1950 in Texarkana, Texas. Sandra married the love of her life, Jerry Williams, on August 5th, 1967. Together they had an adventure filled life for 56 years, along the way they had 4 beloved children. They travelled the globe for 26 years in service to the Air Force. Creating lasting memories both overseas as well as in the states (including Alaska).
Sandra loved to talk about the great memories she had from their travels together and the unique experience of raising children in such different environments (tropical Guam to the frozen tundra of Alaska and many places in between). One of the things Sandra loved most in life was caring for others. She had a generous heart and always wanted to make everybody else feel loved and cared for. She always made her grandchildren feel loved and important and could delight in nothing more than putting a big smile on one or all of their faces with a surprise.
Sandra served as a homemaker and caregiver to the family's children while Jerry served in the Air Force. Once the children were all in school she combined her love of numbers and people to serve as the account coordinator for Methodist Mission Home in San Antonio, TX where she helped expectant mothers match to families wanting to adopt- creating happy stories for others. Sandy also managed a few check cashing stores along the way where her meticulous drive for accuracy made her the best of the best. Her customers always knew they could count on her to know them when they walked in the door and that she would make them feel not only welcome but important to her. In 2002 Jerry and Sandra moved back home to Texarkana to help care for Jerry's aging parents. Here in Texarkana is where they have lived since then, taking time to visit family as often as time allowed.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents Odell and Avaneil Pilgreen, father-in-law Horace Williams, mother-in-law Elouise Potts, 3 beloved children- daughter Jennifer "Isley" McMurray, son Jerry "Heath" Williams and son-in-law Brian Yeakley.
