Sally Ann Rogers, 70, of Redwater, TX passed away on Friday September 21, 2012 in a local hospital. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born on November 29, 1941 in Dallas, TX to Don and Helen Norris. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Don Rogers, son Russell "Rusty" Dean Rogers and Brother Donald Clinton Norris.
Sally started out in the banking business in Dallas, TX moving to Texarkana, TX in 1970 continuing work at Security Savings then leaving there and going to work at Cotton Belt Railroad as Chief Clerk and Secretary to Train master. After 20 years at Cotton Belt and Kiamichi she work at Liberty Eylau ISD and Redwater ISD. Sally also taught oil painting at her home to both adults and children. She was a member of Redwater First Baptist Church and the womens Sunday school class.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Donna and Tony Strawn of Redwater, TX; granddaughter Tisha Strawn Harp; two great-grandchildren Coby Harp and Cache Harp of Redwater TX.; sister and brother-in-law Edwina and Jerry Bates of Rockwall, TX;brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Sally Norris of Garland, TX,sister-in-law Tommie Rodgers of Carrolton, TX and a large number of nephews and nieces and special daughter and son-in-law Melodie and Ronnie Kirby of Douglasville, TX and a special son and daughter-in-law Mike and Shalena Reese of Coffman, TX.
Funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Redwater First Baptist Church, Redwater, TX with Bro. Willard Land and Bro. Henry Rehkopf officiating. Burial will be in Redwater Cemetery, Redwater, TX under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Monday September 24, 2012 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
