Robert James Hunter, 83, of Texarkana, TX died Sunday September 23, 2012 in a local hospital. Mr. Hunter was born on August 3, 1929 in Texarkana, TX. He was a member of St Edwards Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha Hunter, two brothers Thomas George Hunter, Jr. and John Daniel Hunter.
Mr. Hunter is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10am Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at St Edwards Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Worm officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Tuesday September 25, 2012 with a rosary to be recited at 7pm at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
