Ray G. Barnes

Ray G. Barnes, 73, of Texarkana, AR passed away November 30, 2011 at his home. Mr. Barnes was born November 20, 1938 in Ashdown, AR. He was member of Solid Rock Church and served in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Barnes; and a grandson, Shaun Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Barnes of Texarkana, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Valarie Barnes of Texarkana, TX; daughters and son-in-law, Carla Smith of Gainesville, TX and Kerri and Doran Oats of Texarkana, AR; stepdaughter, Christina Friday and stepson, Matthew Friday both of Texarkana, AR; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Betty Barnes; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at East Memorial Chapel - Downtown with Rev. Jim Sexton officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of East funeral Home - Downtown.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at the funeral home and will gather at noon, Saturday at Solid Rock Church at the "Y" at Miller Co. Rd. 10 and 17.
