Paul Emanuel Capps, Jr., age 71, of Texarkana, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born on April 27, 1953 in Alexandria, LA. He was a member of First United Methodist, Texarkana, AR. where he served on numerous boards over the years. He was a lifetime musician and instructor who loved writing music. He had many hobbies and many collections such as fishing, motorcycles, trains, playing cards, baseball cards, coins and stamps. He was an owner of a music store in the 90's and you could often find him in one. He loved his grandchildren immensely. He also has two special dogs, Bentley and Molly.
Preceded in death by his wife Debbrae Capps; parents Edith and Paul Capps, Sr.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Johnson Capps; one daughter and son-in-law Melody and Randy Hickson; grandchildren Dylan, Ashley and Adrianna Brackeen, Logan ( Kristene) and Nolan Hickson; two great-grandchildren Raylan and Riley Hickson; one brother Jesse Capps (Diwana); one sister Joy Belk (Wesley); two sisters-in-law Karen Hartshorn and Gina Reed (Creighton). Plus numerous other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, September 28, 2024 at First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, AR. with Rev. Jaimie Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Friday, September 27, 2024 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
