Mary Ellon Chasteen

Mary Ellon Chasteen, 91 of Texarkana, TX passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at a local hospital. She was born on November 8, 1924 in Bowie County, TX. Mrs. Chasteen was a member of Downtown First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Chasteen, Jr., granddaughter, Amy Gwendolyn Peace, parents, E.B. and Nora Wright and sister, Norma Jo Wood Wilson.

Survivors included three daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Donald Peace of Atlanta,TX, Karen and Mack Standlee of Plano, TX and Carla and Mike Joseph of Plano, TX; two grandsons and their spouses, Jeff and Terri Peace of Atlanta, TX and Todd and Alison Standlee of Austin, TX; three granddaughters and their spouses, Heather and Zack Abshier of Prosper, TX, Julie and Micah Morphew of Plano, TX and Amy Joseph of Arlington, TX; seven great grandchildren, Tyler and Jenna Peace, Dylan Peace, Landry Peace, Piper Standlee, Luke Standlee, Chloe Standlee and Sloane Abshier; one great great grandchild, Aubrey Peace; five nephews and one niece, Rick Wood, Lindsey Wood, Corey Wood, Danny Chasteen, Peggy Bowdoin and Gary Chasteen.

Graveside service will be 11am Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Sand Hill Cemetery, Simms, TX followed by a 3pm Thursday memorial service at Cornerstone Retirement Center Chapel. Burial will be under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
