Laura Loyd Jones

Laura Loyd Tucker,86,passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 in a local nursing home. She was born on March 31,1927 to W.M and Odie Tucker in Mulberry, AR. Known to friends and family as "Billie", she spent her youth in Mulberry until she married Glen Loyd and moved to Texarkana, TX where she lived until Glen's death in 1987. She moved back to Mulberry and married Harvey C. Jones in 1999. Billie and Harvey resided in Mulberry until they returned to Texarkana shortly before Billie's death. Billie was a loved and well-respected member of the Mulberry community and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff of Alma Rehab and Nursing facility where she spent the last year of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and all four of her siblings. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Loyd and her beloved friends Tiger and Smokie. She is survived by her husband Harvey C. Jones, of Mulberry, AR (previously) and currently residing in Texarkana, AR. Son Doyle Loyd of Springfield, MO, step-children Sandra Jones of Pensacola, FL, Steve Jones and Kathy (Bobby) Sturdivant of Texarkana, TX, and Becky (Mike) Couchman of Waco, TX. She is survived by Grandchildren Christopher Loyd of Dallas, TX and Geney Loyd Morton of Chicago, IL. Step-grandchilren Robbie Ray and Daniel Jones of Texarkana, TX, Rickie Byler of Lockesburg, and Curtis Jones of Louisiana. Billie is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 10am, Thursday, December 5, 2013 at East Memorial Chapel-Downtown. Entombment will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.

Family will receive friends from 9am Thursday until start of service at the funeral home.
