Joseph Campbell, 90, died of natural causes on September 23, 2023 at St. Michael’s Hospital. He was born on December 13, 1932, in Mankato, Minnesota, the son of Michael P. and Monica S. Campbell. Joseph married his loving wife, Jean, on September 30th, 1962. They were married within a week of sixty one years.
Joseph graduated from Mitchell Hamlin College of Law, in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1959. He practiced law until his retirement to Texarkana in 1997. Joseph was a current member of the Texas Bar Association and still enjoyed counseling those who sought his help. Additionally, he was a member of the Kansas, Missouri, and Minnesota Bars.
He also enjoyed his friendships with many area lawyers and continued to study and fulfill all Bar requirements to retain his license. Joseph and his wife, Jean, spent their retirement years in Texarkana, enjoying and being well taken care of by their neighbors - Coach Harrell and wife JoSarah, The Revels Family - Rick, Pam, and Megan, and The Scotts - Darrius and Kimberly. They also enjoyed making many dear friends including The Burrow Family - H.T., Gayle, Trey and Ali. Joseph always loved living in “Twin” Cities - including Minneapolis/St. Paul, Kansas City/Missouri/Kansas, and then picking Texarkana, upon his retirement, due to its warmer temperatures. Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, Jean, are many Nieces and Nephews.
Joseph’s ashes will be spread, according to his direction. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mitchell Hamlin College of Law, 875 Summit Ave, St. Paul, Minnesota, in his name.
