Mr. Wells was born October 6, 1928 in Ore City,Texas and was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and also retired from Red River Army Depot.
Mr. Wells was Wadley Volunteer of the year 1998 and was a member of Buchanan First Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was also Past President of Wadley Auxillary and a Cancer survivor. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Odis Wells, Wilson Wells, J.C. Wells and Elvis Wells and a sister Valire Adams.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Martha Wells of Texarkana,Texas, his son and daughter-in-law Lawrence and Kathy Wells of Fuquay-Varina,North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law; Cynthia and Keith Solley of Texarkana,Arkansas; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law; Michael and Carol Trumble of Texarkana,Arkansas; grandson; John W. Solley of Texarkana,Arkansas, granddaughter; Alicia Wells of Raliegh,North Carolina, grandson; Stephen Wells of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and grandson; Richard Wells of Fort Meade,Maryland and his great grandchildren Scott Trumble of Texarkana,Arkansas and Brittany Beardon of Texarkana,Arkansas. Mr. Wells is also survived by one brother A.J. Wells of Parker,Colorado.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Buchanan First Baptist Church with Brother Don Brazile officiating.
Burial will follow in Chapelwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday night at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
