John Charles "Jack" Rubly, 92, of Wake Village, Texas had purchased his ticket to Glory many years ago. On Sunday, March 16,2025, surrounded by family, he awaited with great anticipation to have his ticket punched, by the Greatest Conductor of his life, Christ Jesus, and boarded the train to attend the Greatest Service for Eternity.
John was born on October 28, 1932, in Miami, Arizona to Grant Russell Rubly and Lucille Alyce Pickering Rubly. Growing up he lived in many states, including Arizona, Ohio and Oregon. His parents finally settled in Malvern Arkansas, and he eventually moved to Texarkana, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wives Glora Jean, and Dellia Arline, his brother, Grant Allen Rubly, his grandson Michael Allen Watson, and son in love, Joe Langley.
John is survived by his siblings, Betty Rubly, Carl Rubly, his favorite of all time, baby sister, Sharon Hardin, his five children and their spouses: Elaine Langley, David and Judy Rubly, all of Magnet Cove Arkansas, James Rubly, of Malvern Arkansas, Kellie and Mickey Watson, and Jerry Rubly all of Texarkana, Texas. His stepchildren and their spouses: Jeana O'Brien, Angela Dawson, of Hot Springs, AR, Johnny and Angela Miller of Denton, TX, Joseph and Tina Miller of Lonsdale, AR and Matthew and Sheila Patterson of Hot Springs, AR. Six grandchildren: Joe Langley, Samuel and Kimberly Langley, Heather and Chad Doddy, Sean and Karen Watson, Brooke Watson-Odum, Lindsey Rubly, Charles Kennedy and numerous step grandchildren. Eleven great-grandchildren: Journee and Oliva Doddy, Michael Bret Watson, Chase Lynn Betts, Elijah, Eliza, Rainy, Lucas and Silas Langley, Belle and his baby girl, Layla Watson (who hung the moon in his eyes), as well as numerous step great grandchildren.
John retired from Lone Star Steel, where he worked as a millwright. He served in the Army Reserves and National Guard. He was a volunteer firefighter for many years in Wake Village. He was also a carpenter, who built many houses in Wake Village, including his own.
Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2pm to 3pm followed by services at East Funeral Home 2807 Moores Lane Texarkana, TX 75503. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Wake Village, TX with full military honors.
