Her children arise and call her blessed…
Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Proverbs 31: 28a & 29-31
She was in this world, but not of this world and on September 8, 2020, she entered the gates of her eternal home when God called her according to His perfect timing. She taught 4th grade Sunday School for 26 years at Beech Street First Baptist Church and also taught a senior ladies Sunday School Class at Highland Park Baptist Church. She led Bible study for seniors at a Texarkana nursing home from 2000-2010. She loved to buy gifts for her family, including her daughters and sons-in-law Nancy & Lee Maxwell and Cindy & Eduardo Torrealba, her sons and daughters-in-law David & Karen Reavis and Mark & Debbie Reavis, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed conducting estate sales for over 30 years and was a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan. She was blessed to live at the Retreat at Kenwood for her last year and to spend the last few days of her life in the loving care of Texarkana Hospice. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” 1 Thessalonians: 5:18.
