on January 23, 1956, in Idabel, OK. He grew up in Irving, TX and graduated from Irving High
School in 1974. Jim lived a full life playing baseball and golf across the South in his youth,
creating memories with his Sigma Chi fraternity brothers at Texas Tech, spending time on the
lake with his brother Jerry, and driving across the country. In Jim’s later years, he enjoyed
spending time watching John Wayne movies, listening to Bruce Springsteen, and watching
grandsons Rex, Duke, and Riggs as they played around him.
Jim had many tribes that supported him throughout the years including Choctaw Nation, Dr.
John Hoskins and staff, Jim’s nurses at DaVita Dialysis, nurses Dea and Angela, countless
dutiful caretakers, Mandeville Baptist Church and their members, neighbors Alvin and Deloris
Jordan and their sons. The wide-spread support he received throughout his battle with
diabetes and its complications is appreciated by the family.
Jim was proceeded in death by his mother and stepfather Rita and Bob McClendon and
brothers Charles and Jerry Woolery.
Jim’s passing is mourned by wife Amy Woolery, father and step-mother Clyde Ray and Frances
Woolery, children Ashley Jackson, Jimmy Woolery, and William Woolery, step-daughters
Candace Drozal and Brandi Robinson and their spouses, sister-in-law Pamela Woolery and her
sons Jacob and Noah Woolery and their spouses, grandchildren Shae, Drake, Isabella, Walker,
Gia, Gwen, Rex, Abby, Duke, and Riggs, cousin Mike Stewart, and many more extended family
and friends.
Thoughts and prayers for the family are appreciated. A celebration of life will be planned at a
