James "JB" Cross, 86 of Wake Village, TX died Monday August 27, 2012 at his home. He was born on December 26, 1925 in Marlow, OK to Myles Daniel and Ida Elizabeth Cross. Mr. Cross was a member of Eylau United Methodist Church where he headed up several church committees; he was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Praire war ship and was past president of the Over Thirties Club.
He is preceded in death by his previous wife Nadai Cross, sisters Wanda Cross, Betty Dickerson and Carolyn Halbrook, infant girl Cross, brother Myles Cross, son Charles Bradshaw, and infant grandson Chad Bradshaw.
J B is survived by his wife Darlene Witterstaetter Cross of Wake Village, TX; two sons and daughters-in-law Jim and Melody Bradshaw of Forney, TX and Steven and Norma Cross of Ft Worth, TX: daughter-in-law, Diane Bradshaw of Wichita Falls, TX, two step-daughters and their husbands Brenda and Charles Otwell of Texarkana, TX and Cindy and Mike Harkins of New Boston,TX: sisters and brothers-in-law Norma Beavers of Watonga, OK, Margie Butler of Sterling, OK, Rine and Edd Sanders of Abilene, TX, brother and sister-in-law, C E and Joy Cross of Cache, OK, sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Weldon Cosgrove of Sterling, OK, brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Joyce Cross of Sterling, OK, sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Phil Baugh of Marlow, OK and Gwen and Dennis Del Camp of Lawton, OK; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at East Memorial Chapel - Downtown with Revs. Brenda Lucas and Chuck Bratz officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the funeral home.
