A beautiful new angel was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, by the name of
Gloria Isabel Otero, on December 20, 2013. Gloria Otero, 66, was a much beloved
wife, mother and grandmother, and was very devoted to her family.
She was born on June 18th, 1947, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and relocated to the
United States in 1978, and eventually settled and made her home in Texarkana,
Texas. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Texarkana,
and spent many happy years working as an office manager at her husband’s place
of business.
She exuded a beautiful spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her.
She lived life to the fullest, and enjoyed traveling and spending quality time
surrounded by her precious grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, and her
love and generosity will be forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Felix Cabrera, of Texarkana, Texas. She
is survived by her husband, Rafael Otero, of Texarkana; her parents, Rafael and
Gloria Cabrera, of Texarkana; 3 sons, Antonio and Larra Otero; Emmanuel and
Katherine Otero, all of Texarkana; and Javier Otero, and fiancé, Olympia Perna, of
Highlands, New Jersey. Four precious grandchildren, William and Emma Otero,
and Nicholas and Sophia Otero.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30pm Sunday, December 22, 2103 at east Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
A rosary will be recited at 6pm Monday, December 23, 2013 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane with visitation to follow at 6:30pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Tuesday,December 24, 2013 at Scared Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Adams officiating. Service are under direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
