Elizabeth was born on October 2, 1926, to Clara Kuhn Cigainero and Victor T. Cigainero in Texarkana, Arkansas. She grew up on 2823 Ash Street, where her parents operated a neighborhood grocery. She graduated from Providence Academy in 1944, and shortly after began her career at the State National Bank. Three years later she married J.W. “Dub” Templeton, a Texarkana police officer, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church. They moved to Waco, Texas, in 1959, shortly after Dub began his career with Morton Salt. There Liz made many friends at KWTX-TV, where she worked for 18 years in the accounting department. She was very active in the lives of her children, Diane and John, especially when they were students at Reicher Catholic High School. She opened her kitchen 24/7 to all and was a renowned cook, most especially for her Italian dishes that were passed down to her from her father. Liz adored her grandchildren, with whom she never grew tired of playing. In 1989, Liz and Dub retired at his family home in Texarkana. They resumed their active membership at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, where Liz was involved in Silver Circle. She moved to Clifton, Texas, four years ago to be near her family. During these years she continued to live a vivacious life, spending week ends at her son’s home on Lake Whitney and keeping her family entertained with funny jokes and stories of growing up in Texarkana. She had a passion for reading, completing dot-to-dots with a thousand numbers, and playing Candy Crush on her iPad. Even in her sickness, she joked with the doctors and was a favorite patient with the staff at Providence Hospital due to her valiant spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. “Dub” Templeton and her brother V.T. Cigainero. She is survived by her son, John Templeton and wife Judy of Clifton, TX; daughter Diane Templeton Hamilton and husband Eddy of Arlington, TX; grandchildren Leah Templeton; Erin Templeton Harry and husband Brian Harry; Wesley Templeton; and Hannah Hamilton; great grandchildren Owen, Teagan, and Josie Harry; brother-in-law Dan Templeton; and niece and nephew, Barbara and Tommy Cigainero.
