Dorothy "MaMaw" Hines, age 86 of Hooks, TX left this earth to enter her heavenly home on September 18, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born June 8, 1925 in Prescott, AR to James Grady and Martha Murrah.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Clyde P. Williams, and husbands, Roy Stone and Jack Hines. Her five siblings, James Murrah, Velma Akin, Avery Murrah, Ann Reeves and Joe Murrah.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, daughter, Debbie Satterfield and husband, Ronnie of Hooks, TX; son, Larry P. Williams of Hooks, TX and stepson, James Stone and wife, Susan of Hot Springs, AR; 7 grandchildren, Shane P. Satterfield, Shelley Hanes, Scott Satterfield and Jason P. Williams all of Hooks, TX, Ashley Williams of North Carolina and Sawyer and Jamie Stone of Hot Springs, AR; 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Laverne Murrah of Forth Worth, TX and Louise Murrah of Hooks, TX; one brother-in-law, Charles Reeves of Austin, TX and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very devoted and proud of her family and would share their many accomplishments with anyone and everyone that would listen. She also enjoyed reading, listening to spiritual music and looking at flowers. She was especially fond of the rock garden built just for her by her late husband, Jack.
Dorothy spent 25 years of her life caring for people as a nurse and passed on her legacy to two of her grandchildren.
Dorothy was also a very devout Christian and attended Myrtle Springs Baptist Church, Hooks, TX. When she could no longer physically attend church, she enjoyed watching the sermons on DVD.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Hardaway officiating. Services are under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
