Brenda Nichols

Brenda Nichols, 62, of Texarkana , AR died Monday, Dec. 14, 2015. Mrs. Nichols was born July 26,1953 in Houston, TX. She was employed by ST Michael Hospital as a Registered Nurse, and was most recently working her dream job at Hancock Fabrics. She was a member of Hickory Street Baptist Church where she served on the Mission team.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Don Nichols and grandson Lavarren Gullatt, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Beth Nichols, daughter and son-in-law Heather and Lavarren Gullatt, two grandsons Calvin Nichols Gullatt and Warren Gullatt, all of Texarkana, AR. Her mother Joyce Finney, of Texarkana , TX Two brothers and one sister-in-law, David Sanford, Phillip and Dee Sanford of Benton, AR. Two sisters, Dianne Edwards and Mary Kathleen Sanford of Texarkana , TX; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of Tennessee, Billy Charles Nichols and his wife Patti and Jimmy Ray Nichols and his wife Patty; and a host nieces, nephews, great nephews and a great, great niece.

Brenda was passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ and her family. She sewed and crafted relentlessly and was not afraid to tackle any repair or home project.

Brenda will be remembered fondly by her co-workers, church family, cousins, aunts, uncles, and almost everyone she met. She was thoughtful of others, Honored her mother and worked hard to keep her family connected and traditions alive.

She was a hard working employee, and alway gave her best. She loved taking care of people and bringing them comfort. She was a wonderful mother who was dedicated to raising her girls properly. She taught them to work hard and love even harder, also to cook when that job was done she turned her attention to her grandchildren, Calvin and Warren as everyone knows she spoiled them tremendously. She loved her son-in-law dearly, she made sure any free time he had was dedicated to her project list.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM at East Funeral Home, Downtown.

Memorial Service will be at 10 am Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 at Hickory Street Baptist Church, 2923 Hickory Street, Texarkana, AR. with Rev. Tim Strebeck officiating
