Billy W. Bowden, 77, of Texarkana, TX went to his Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 18, 1935 in Linden, TX. Bill served his country for twenty years in the United States Navy retiring as a Chief Petty Officer with 14 years at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Bill also retired from the Sisters of Providence Our Lady Of Compassion rehabilitation and nursing center in Anchorage, Alaska. Bill was a talented musician, an avid fisherman, and collector of antique guns. He also loved traveling with his wife Sandra. Billy was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, National Rifle association and the Fleet Reserve Association.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Bowden and his daughter Lorrie Noah of Cookville, TX, his son Randy Bowden of Haubstadt, IN, his daughters Melissa Paro of Linden, TX, Kelley Moore of Atlanta, TX and Meredith Browning of Redmond, OR, 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2pm Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at St James Episcopal Church with Father Douglas Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Linden Cemetery, Linden, TX under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Monday October 8, 2012 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
