Betty was born September 30, 1934 in Perry, Iowa. She lived in Colfax, Iowa for many years. She met the love of her life, Pete, at a skating rink after tripping him with her skates and declaring to her best friend, "I'm going to marry that boy!" She graduated from Colfax High and went to nurse's training in Des Moines at Mercy Hospital.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Malcolm Myers, her father, Charles Stackhouse, mother and step father, Laura and Harvey Shuey; also brothers Owen, Johnny, LaVern and sisters Gladys and Eva.
Betty is survived by children and spouses Victoria and Charles Massey (Nacogdoches, Texas) , Scott and Amy Myers (Franklin, Tennessee), Kathleen Anglin (Texarkana), Christine and David Thomas (Texarkana), Sandra and Scott Morrow (Wake Village), Mark and Milli Myers (The Woodlands, Texas), Jon and Shelly Myers (Jonesboro, Arkansas), 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a special sister in law, Ruth and a number of other relatives and friends including her lifelong friends Donna Patterson of Colfax and Erna DeBruan of Des Moines, Iowa.
After marrying "that boy" in 1953, Betty was very involved with raising her family. She managed to work outside the home using her nursing and nuturing skills. Her last job was with the Miller County Health Clinic, retiring in 1995.
Betty moved around the country as Pete was transferred. She lived in Des Moines, Iowa; Hanford, California; Guilford, Connecticut; and Texarkana, Arkansas and Texas. She opened her home to her friends and family especially at Christmas when she would display her extensive collection of Snow Village and her decorated home.
As President of the ATM (first initials of the last name of each member and her "favorite" kind of machine) Club, Betty took her all her daughters (the in laws were as close as daughters) to Las Vegas and to London. She loved to travel and this included a 6 week backpack trek in Europe, trips all over the Unites States and a final trip back to Connecticut last summer with her children.
Betty was an early member of Sugar Hill Methodist Church. Her hobbies included reading, crafts, doll making, decorating, and cooking and playing with her IPad.

No one ever left her home without a wave of her hand and rarely did you leave empty handed. Mom, we are all gathered at your back door waving goodbye and we aren't empty handed either! We have so many treasured memories with you to take with us!
To know Mom was to love Mom. We will miss her greatly. She lived as her Lord asked with respect and love to her family and all who encountered her. Tuesday afternoon when she entered into Heaven, Mom looked into the face of God and He said "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
