Auzie was born September 7, 1931 to Lonnie and Lela White. He went to meet his Lord on March 23, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by his family. Auzie was the eldest of seven children. At the age of eighteen he joined the U.S. Marines, becoming 1st Sgt in Vietnam and Korea.
He enjoyed twenty years of service before retiring and starting a new career with AP Supply and Wilson Company. In 1991, he became a self-employed maintenance man who could remodel, repair, and build anything you needed, often doing work for free if there was a person in need. He gave an interview and made the cover of Texarkana Gazette's Active Age in February 2013. The article, "A Handyman's Handyman," features details about his life and how important hard work was to Auzie. His mission in life was to help others. In short, he was the definition of what a good Christian man is supposed to be; honest, hard working, and kind to a fault. Whether it was helping a family member who needed his advice or teaching the Adult VII Sunday School class at his church, the same skills he used as a maintenance man helped him to minister to those who needed it most. He was a devoted member of Highland Park Baptist Church as well as their Assistant Financial Officer.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda, his son, Milton and Tina White, three grandchildren, Amber and Bill Green, Megan and Rob Dunning, and MJ and Christina White; One stepson, John and Kristi Seymour, one stepdaughter, Valerie and Adam Hamstra, and one special friend, Tammy Williams-Moore. He has six great grandchildren, Piper White, Preston Green, Cameron and Jake Seymour, and Belle and Blake Hamstra.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Highland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Myers and Rev. Tim Perkins officiating. Burial will be at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas.
