Doctor AD

He was my mentor. He and Sharron taught me so many things.  He was a Christian man, a man of faith. He spent his life serving people around the world.  The love of his life was Sharron and he was a man of integrity.  He had a great sense of humor and help children of broken families.  He loved Christ more than anything or anyone.  He was a great  example in all he did.  I taught Lloyd swimming one summer, enjoyed  a meal or two with him and Sharron. I was in Kentucky when he passed.   I regretted that I was unable to attend his funeral.

I visited Dr A. D. Smith in the year of 2005 from China. I stayed with his family for about four days to visit the hospital and clinic he used to work. He was so kind and generous to me. I still remembered everything about this great man, flower of Christ and a wonderful surgeon.  Remembered the wonderful guest room in his nice house, the breakfast his wife cooked, the wild duck meat and his collection of all kinds of guns and the surgical textbooks he gave to me. 

I worked with Dr. Smith at the Wadley Hospital and he was and EXCELLENT Surgeon and he was always very nice and helpful to me. Sure miss him very much. R.I.P. My Friend, you are very much missed.

So many of us are so much better off today, because of Dr. AD. Rest in peace, good doctor. You deserve many stars in your crown.

I was really sorrow to here about Dr.AD, I liked him and respected him a great deal. Dr. Smith had a very powerful voice in the medical community, he swung a big stick and was not shy in letting a person know just where he stood on any issue. He took his patients care very serious and expected you to do the same.  I had lots of conversations with him and I'm sorry that he is gone.

A. D. was a wonderful fraternity brother at LA Tech in the PIKA.  He and Jim Brown and I traveled to Miami Florida in August 1960 in his Ford auto for the PIKE National Convention on Miami beach.  We had a great time together and one or two of us danced with the PIKE Dream Girl from Indiana.  We lost contact after leaving Tech but those memories of him continue to be with me as I have traveled through life with my wife Raye Ellen from Ruston.
He achieved so much in life and his wonderful belief in the Lord God has secured him a wonderful place in eternity.  May God bless his family during this period in their lives. Sincerely, Frank Betts

Mrs. Smith, I am so sorry to hear about Dr. A.D.'s passing he was an exceptional physician but he was an even better man. I worked with him for twenty years at the hospital. However he made the greatest impact on my life as he cared for my Mom both her surgical care and her spiritual health. He will be missed. My prayers for you and your family.
