Lois’s story began on February 8, 1954 in Wharton, Texas. She was the only daughter of Felder Harris Sr. and Augusta (Hardison) Harris. In 1965, Lois embraced her life with Christ at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Kendleton, Texas. In 1972, Lois graduated as valedictorian from Powell Point High School. After graduation she attended Massey Business College to earn a business degree.
In 1981, Lois married Larry LaDay and became an amazing mother to their two children. She was a proud member of St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for nearly 20 years allowing her to inspire so many children beyond her own. She will be remembered for her dedication and willingness to give back to her community. Yet it was her feisty personality, kindness, and strong-willed spirit that allowed the former to be true. Lois Ray LaDay (nee Harris) walked faithfully with the Lord. Her work here was done and she was called Home on April 10, 2018 after a well fought battle with Leiomyosarcoma. Her last day was spent with her family, though it was not enough time, it was time well spent.
She is survived by her husband Larry LaDay, son Eric LaDay (his girlfriend Miranda Onstott), daughter Evon LaDay, mother Augusta (Hardison) Harris, and brothers Ronald Harris and Bill Harris. In Heaven she will be reunited with her father Felder Harris Sr.
The rosary/visitation will be Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Terrell, Texas at 7:00pm. The memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Terrell, Texas at 10:00am.
