I am sorry for the loss of your husband and father. I remember accompanying the family to high school football games while Mr. Engle took photographs. We often celebrated at Ambrosini's Restaurant after the games. Mr. Engle was always an entertaining host.

Mr. Engle was highly respected by not only his students but also his colleagues. I feel privileged to have known him and worked with him. He was the perfect teacher--high standards and expectations coupled with a genuine  desire to help students succeed.

Mr. Engle was very inspirational to me. He was my teacher at North for my junior and senior year. My senior year, there were 3 of us who had already taken 2 years of Chemistry and wanted more, and he made up a lab class for us. I loved Chemistry and went on to Purdue and earned my degree in Chemical Engineering. I am very grateful for everything he taught me. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry for your loss.  Mr. Engle was, by far, my favorite and most inspiring teacher.  As a result of his excellent instruction, I became a chemistry teacher and enjoyed 35 years of passing on his excellent work.

Although I didn't have Mr. Engle at North, I always enjoyed seeing him there.  He always had a sweet smile and "hello" for me, which was very comforting, being it was the first year for North, and we were all a little lost and trying to find our way. My thoughts are with you.

We are so sorry for your loss.  I taught with Walt at North and found him to be an excellent chemistry teacher.  I was not in the Science Dept. but was just one hall over in the Business Dept. and we visited often in the Science work room.  I'm sure he will be missed greatly and even though I haven't seen him for some years, I shall always remember him with fond thoughts.

Mr. Engle was my Chemistry teacher at Garfield in 1959-60. He had a way of explaining the most complicated principles of Chemistry in ways we could all grasp and taught us that fundementals came first, then details. Mr. Engle taught much more than just Chemistry.

I had Mr. Engle as a chemistry teacher while at Terre Haute North back in 1984. It was not my strong suit, but he challenged me to do work I wasn't sure I could.   He was a good teacher and a better man.  As an adult, I began to understand his love and dedication for THN much better as I grew to know what it took to also tackle his duties as ticket manager.  He touched many lives and I feel blessed to have been one.
