Sharon L. Stewart (Fouts) devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend passed away on August 17th, 2024, at the age of 87.
Born and raised in Terre Haute,Sharon was the beloved only daughter of Jack Fouts and Coral Fouts (Liston). After graduating from Gerstmeyer Technical High School she married Lawrence R. Stewart. During their 68 years together, they built a life centered around the love of family and adventure, raising three children: Mark, Karen, and Greg.
Sharon's career was marked by her dedication to education. She began her professional journey as a classroom Education Para in the Vigo County School System, and through her hard work and commitment, she eventually became the Administrative Secretary at Ouabache Elementary School. Her colleagues and the students she worked with will remember her for her kindness and unwavering dedication.
Family was the heart of Sharon's world. She was deeply involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren always offering love and support. Sharon and Lawrence shared a passion for travel, Disney, and camping. They spent much of their lives exploring the United States with their children and, later, their grandchildren. Their adventures together are treasured memories for those she leaves behind.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence; her children, Mark (Jennifer) of Kingsport, TN, Karen (Brett Letkowski) of Wichita, KS, and Greg (Lynette) of Terre Haute, IN; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Brett Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery, where Sharon will be laid to rest. Visitation, will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service on Saturday.
