Scott B. Herrick, 56, of Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 10, 1967 in Beech Grove, IN, to Jerry Herrick and Linda L. Gallagher.
Scott was a graduate of Rockville High School and Miami Dade College, where he earned his mortuary science degree. After spending several years working in the funeral industry in Southwest Florida, he returned to Indiana where he was the manager of Bittles and Hurt and Hopkins-Rector Funeral Homes, Greencastle. In 2016, he accepted the position of General Manager/Funeral Director at Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park and Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, Terre Haute.
Scott was a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association (IFDA) and was a past president of the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce. He also served as an Advisory Board Member for the mortuary science program at Ivy Tech Community College. He also loved watching baseball games and was always working on a project around the house.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Herrick; an infant daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Herrick; grandparents, Richard and Florence Herrick; and uncles, Terry and Michael Herrick.
Survivors include his loving companion, Paula J. Phillips of Terre Haute; daughter, Lynsey Herrick and companion, Colt Stevenson of Fillmore; son, Andrew Herrick of Roachdale; granddaughter, Emma Jean Stevenson of Fillmore; mother, Linda L. Gallagher of Terre Haute, and former spouse, Leslie Herrick of Roachdale. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In keeping with Scott’s wishes for a simple remembrance, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park. He will be laid to rest at the memorial park mausoleum.
