Russell Christian Hofmann

Russell Christian Hofmann, age 75, of Terre Haute, moved from this life to his eternal life on March 4th. He was born on February 29, 1940 in Lima, Ohio to Russell P. Hofmann and Arlena Fern Mast Hofmann Soper. Russell’s step-father, Kenneth Ralph Soper became part of Russell’s life after his dad’s passing when he was a child.

Russell was an Airman for the U.S. Airforce from 1960 until 1964. He married Barbara Ellen Shaw on June 14, 1971 and they started a family together. He worked for 34 years as a citrus researcher in Florida for the U.S. Government.

Russell is survived by his daughters, Christine D. Berner of Apopka, FL and Hope Hofmann of Terre Haute; and grandchildren, Bradley, Lilian, and Emili Berner of Apopka, FL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell; Mother, Arlena; step-father, Kenneth; wife, Barbara; son-in-law, Blu Berner; brother, Fredrick Phillip Hofmann; and step-brother, Kenneth Murray.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 12th from 10:00 AM until the service at Noon at Roselawn Funeral Home. Pastor James Cochran will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may leave words of comfort at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net.
