Martha Naoma Worley, of Bedford and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, June 06, 2013, in Bloomington. She was born on December 1, 1911, in Indianapolis, to Emil Leonard and Naoma Belle (Conaway) James. She married James William Worley and together they raised two children. Martha worked at Meis Department Store in Danville, IL and was a Layout Artist for the Danville Commercial News. She was a member of Christus Lutheran Church, where she remained active until she moved to Bedford to be closer to her family. She was a Cub Scout Leader for many years. Martha enjoyed being active, especially fishing and camping. She had a zest for life and a feisty nature. She had a delightful sense of humor. Martha will forever be remembered as a strong woman and great role model who touched many lives and shared her love with so many.
Martha is survived by her grandchildren: Jerry Towle and his wife Cathy, Cheryl Towle, Susan Palmer and her husband Kurt, all of Bloomington, and Jeff Towle and his wife Robin of Florida; and great-grandchildren, Daneille Towle of New Albany, Stephen Towle, Michael Towle, and Stephanie Towle, all of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, a son James Leonard Worley, and a daughter Barbara Towle.
Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Bostron officiating.
